Happiness

Happiness

A Poem by D. Mansfield

Happiness

Do you remember real happiness,

can you conjure it up?

All the wonder and joy of it,

you  wish that it had stuck,

Away it drifted,

like cottonwood seed, with the warm summer air.

Off to that place in the distance,

like it didn't, have a care.

You have tried to coax and  summon it,

all around for it, you have sought.

 Now you understand that  happiness,

can’t  be summoned, Conjured, or bought.

True! It can't be bought!

Well, I try the other two... I summon it and conjure it with personal meditation. However, happiness is somehow fleety and airy. It always want to slip out of grasp.

"Which it has stuck... Away it drifted!"

So yes, in a way it can't be summoned and conjured because you will have to do it again and again!

Thank you for reading and commenting
Important psychological point here. Happiness, like all of the most important things in life, cannot be coerced. It must be invited, then allowed to flourish.
