Lost a FriendA Poem by D. Mansfield
Lost a friend, just the other day,
didn't know, what to think. Haven't mourned, the last one yet, they're going, as fast as I blink. It takes much longer, to say goodbye, than to meet, and make, a good friend. Because forever now, years later, I always, think of you, in the end. End of everyday, the last day of the week, the beginning, of the month, the promise, of a date to keep. Letting go, of just that one, has taken, all my time, I can't mourn, the second yet, but I have you, on my mind. I noticed you'd left, right away, But mourning, will have to wait. Tonight I drink to you another day I will know my fate. © 2024 D. MansfieldReviews
