Monday Morning

Monday Morning

A Poem by D. Mansfield

We put up no fight, we started no war.
We let out a little squeek, definitely not a roar.
Lulled, to sleep, by decades, of evening news,
Liking what we liked, loving what we'd lose.

We stared into phones, as they dismantled our world.
We saluted our flag, but theirs, was unfurled .
Talking about greatness we knew nothing of,
These new masters, took it all, without a shove..

This poem makes me fear for the future. That’s what happens when you grow complacent and don’t fight back. Reminds me of what could have happened in ww2 without a Churchill. A poem with a warning DM.
