Three 'ifs' - not a 'no' between them but - more a fond would be trilogy of love and affection. Final stanza laughed me!!! (that's my kind of English) Marvellous thoughts wrapped in fine meter, sir.
The great title caught my eye and the pull of it proved too strong to resist .. I'm glad you chose/created it .. because while the rest may now be history, I loved each of those three tiny pieces of it .. Neville

I was a soldier and I lost people when I was deployed. A hard pain to grasp. Were my last words kind and did I tell them, I loved them? Powerful and worthwhile poetry.
