Been hanging around a friend's house

Been hanging around a friend's house

A Poem by D. Mansfield

I've been hanging around, a friend's house
Now, for what seems like a, life,
Wish, that she had loved me,
But there's something, she doesn't like.

Been hanging around, a friends house,
Sometimes, smoking dope.
I don't have any shoestrings,
And I can't find a rope.

Been hanging around, a friends house,
So long now, that I stink.
Didn't know, a person could be this thirsty,
May I please have a drink?

Been hanging around a friends house,
Staring at my phone,
Knowing that my friend,
Wishes I'd leave them alone.

Been hanging around a friends house,
Trying to find a tree.
Trying to find a way out of this mess
But I just can't let it be.

Been hanging around a friends house,
Looked around me and saw,
All my friends have gotten old,
I don't know them at all.
