Black Rose

Black Rose

A Poem by Danielle Landry
"

Love leads to death.

"

Black Rose

The symbol of a black rose is death.

I need a million because my heart has died.

No more left;

Disintegrated;

Gone.

No one can mend it because there’s nothing left.

He put it in the juicer on his way out and drank it,

Wiping the blood on my shirt.

I lay inside a casket,

Cold and frozen,

As if I was a corpse.

I pull up the cover and close the lid.

I have a single black rose lying on top.

My heart no longer beats,

Blood no longer runs through my veins.

I feel the color rush from my face,

And the heat dash out of my body.

   My eyes start to close,

One by one,

As I feel death take over my body.

I can’t help but think my mother was right:

Love does lead to death.

Quite the bite...

a unique description for an ageless event.

Cupid bit you hard... and you described being in love well... uniquely.
