Its a time lapse of indecisive jurisdiction
On the right side we have the conservationists On the left the supremacists In the middle the liberalists Above we have heaven And below we have hell. And in the in-between places lay the rest I know the sides I chose make no sense. But neither do the set ones, so I’ll use mine. If I may ask you, Were are we standing? Or how many standings do we have? Do we share ideals, thoughts, and ideas? Or just a side. Nothing I say The color of a frustrated polygamy, understated monogamy, The death penalty, human rights and the never ending abortion discussion And this new sad venture into recession will separate the differences we hold Unite I hope, giving us something in common Letting us see how we are actually the same species And yet, This new alliance of the human race among us might mark Deeper differences between elite human herds. Yes, human herds. So, We might see ourselves an advanced life form capable of infinite and impossible actions I see us as an overrated form with no apparent purpose As an individual we might be great Hold the insight, the vision and the key to life We might have the faith to move the entire world Or the power to devise the future But as one we are none. We cannot decide right from wrong, Find the true calling of the higher power, Understand our god, gods, or even who our god is All I see in our selves Is a time lapse of indecisive jurisdiction. Seems impossible But I feel that the day we all believe the same exact thing Is the day that our beliefs will be as close to the truth As they will ever be. © 2010 Paul A. Lyons |
