The Descent of Sanity

The Descent of Sanity

A Poem by Paul A. Lyons

Sanity in capricious
Descent
Arriving outside my door
Hiatus
Forbidden
The last insightful
Of death and foul
Aside the fear
That grows inside her
The harvest flourishes
The lights go out

Oh! Please
Reward
Release
The obvious
The hidden

Dark
Darkness
Folds your eyes
Empty, hollow
Deep inside
Fire burning
In your mind
Is the fear
Be my last.
