Sly as a Fox 3 – The making of a PrincessA Poem by DonaldThis is the final chapter of my little fox as she continues on and finds love in the most unexpected way and unexpected place.Wild in her ways, she had spent many
days, wandering the street
in a daze, feeling like she was
in a haze. But home she would
go, to complete her goal, to learn what she
could, and understand what
she knows. She would study for
hours, to learn what is
right, to learn etiquette, and to dress so
bright. She studied hard, for her mother to be, as taskmaster she
was, and very hard to
please. She would walk the
floor, head held high, books on her head, don’t ask why. Then to sit at a table, make conversation, learning their ways, of many nations. Boring as it seem to
be, the night came, when she spied
someone, that she wanted to
see. He was a young
gentleman, dressed so bright, with metals on his
chest, and a sword on this
right. Enamored with this
very sight, she would shy away, and tried to hide, but he had seen her
this night. He walked to her, with a smile so
bright, it outshined the
lights, with teeth so white. They talked for
hours, late into the night, the party had ended, and they had remained
out of sight. Dawn had come, for the couple was
done, to say farewell, as the morning bell
rung. All the next day, her mind had wandered
away, as she remembered, everything he had to
say. But then he came, to take her away, where she could stay, to live as a princess
this very day. For he was a prince looking
for a wife, and found his love
within her eyes. © 2016 DonaldAuthor's Note
