The Dark Side of a Wandering Poet

Are you proud of what you are, the accomplishment you have made, or the things that you have done. Or is there a dark side to you. Something waiting to be unleashed upon an unsuspecting world.

I don’t wish to be reconciled,

or defiled,

for who I am,

for letting my dark side stand.

To believe what you see,

within the books of history,

to be revealed,

lies the truth that is sealed.

Everyone has that moment of weakness,

or of desire that we feel,

for it is the darkness in our lives,

but we never recognize inside.

Everyone has a good side,

so pure and clean,

so you never look,

beneath to see.

The secrets they hide,

in the depths of their mind,

ever silent and never seen,

in this life to believe.

But it is part of who you are,

that gives you balance to fight hard,

to know what it right and what it wrong,

and to know when to be strong.

Some darkness lies so deep,

that they do not see it,

until it creeps,

back into their unsuspecting lives.

It may blind you to the truth,

then to reveal it back to you,

do you truly want to hide,

the real you being true.

Lying is never a good thing,

something that you should never do,

but some lies may provide the truth you need,

to stay alive for some other thing.

But the darkness may lie,

to all of us,

making us fight for the wrong justice,

but it is part of the life we live.

But to give in,

and give it a place,

in the polite society of the human race,

seems like a big disgrace.

But we believe in the land of the free,

not to follow the bad examples in history,

to let it all unfold,

in its place to be.

A longing of love,

and happiness,

in one’s embrace,

a shining example of living grace.

This is for the poor who live in the streets, who live off what the system gives. The dredges of a modern society, without the means to live.
