A Pirate’s Life

A Pirate’s Life

A Poem by Donald
"

This is a tale of piracy on the high seas. It is one of adventure and plunder.

"

Arrg,

arrg,

a pirate’s life for me,

living the life and sailing free.

Sailing the ocean blue,

seeking what it true,

those golden doubloons,

calling to me and you.

Making a plunder or too,

as I sail those seas so blue,

this is what I want to do,

paying my pirate dues.

Having that special tussle,

with that special lady,

that I make love to

before sailing off with the crew.

With a little plunder here,

a sword fight there,

with the red coats,

who are everywhere.

With the Spaniards too,

making my fortunes for you,

plundering gold and jewels,

to live the life I want to.

Become the Lord,

over a land to reign,

and to marry that special one,

who never complains.

But then I have some pirating to do,

either the Caribbean Sea,

or the Spanish Main,

both are the places to be.

Also so the West Indies,

the spices flow,

along with Incan gold,

loaded on those ships sailing so low.

Just waiting for us,

to attack them with the lust,

and send them down to Davy Jones locker,

after we are done.

Afterwards we celebrate,

our righteous take,

doing a little wenching,

and a lot of drinking.

We drink until we drop,

and sleep on the spot,

until the morning comes,

then we go out again.

Life can be good for a pirate,

until we are caught,

where we are hung from a yardarm,

until we rot.

Some will survive,

to celebrate that good life,

we all seek,

and live the life to keep.
