Distressed State of Mind

Here is my mind. I live with depression 24/7. It is not a pretty picture, but I do exist. I use poetry to mellow my mood and give me a moment of pleasure.

Do you know what it is like in kind,

to be in a distressed state of mind,

for your fears are all out,

showing everyone what you are about.

 

To live with depression,

every waking moment,

living with doubt,

in everything throughout.

 

Lacking the motivation,

to rest your case,

to take the deep sleep,

with your final embrace.

 

Life may go on,

but not for you,

for living in a fractured world,

leaves no clues.

 

Most people bend,

to take it in stride,

but you do your best,

just to hide.

 

Never going out the door,

of what you abhor,

living your life,

behind closed doors.

 

Constant doubts,

plague your mind,

fears arise,

to keep you blind.

 

Emotions are no longer an issue,

for you feel nothing inside,

for  sadness abounds,

and misuse collides.

 

Can you live,

If you are dead inside,

No happiness,

No pride.

 

For many things,

may cloud your mind,

constant doubt,

takes all your time.

 

Moments of dread,

goes through your head,

taking the time,

to reflect on that instead.

 

Lifelong memories,

of a past gone wrong,

make you think,

of a sad Country song.

 

Days of feeling blue,

feel so true,

that life is wrong,

keeping you riding along.

 

But live on you do,

in this state of mind called you,

constantly wondering,

what it really true.

 

Nothing beats stress but living depressed.
