The Sad BullfrogA Poem by DonaldThis is a poem for small children to read. It deals with about being apart from the rest of the group and how to become part of the group. The sad bullfrog, sat on the log, looking down into the water, seeing all the other frogs.
He would sit on his log, all day long, wondering if he should join the song, but still he never moved which was wrong.
Day after day, he would watch the rest, as the daylight drifted away, and watched the other frogs at play.
But one day, His log was rocked away, And he fell into the water that with a spray, He went this way and the other way.
He swam both ways, then going down to join them, at the bottom on the way, to see what caused them to play.
They explained, that this is what they did every day, to pass the day away, and socialize with other frogs along the way.
Perplexed with what they said, he swam along with the rest instead, and talked with the rest, along the way.
He continued this for the rest of the day, and realized he wasn’t sad anyway, playing and talking to the frogs, during the day.
The next day, he did the same, learning new games to play, more confident to join them along the way.
But one day, And saw someone, was sitting in his place, so he went up to invite them to play.
Day after day, everything continued this way, everyone played, and soon everyone did the same.
There were no sad bullfrogs, sitting on that log, wondering what it was to play, and not joining in any way.
Now all would live and play, under the water come what may, to join the others in their way, from now until another day. © 2014 Donald |
