In the Line of Fire

Do you ever wonder why some people put themselves in harm'' way to keep us safe. Do you think that is a noble jester or a foolish one. Would you do the same thing to keep your loved one safe.

To walk into,

a line of fire,

brings danger,

to all your desire.

 

Danger to life and limb,

and what awaits beyond,

taking care,

to walk bravely into harm’s way.

 

Risking it all,

in harm’s way,

to keep everyone safe,

for another day.

 

Dangerous duty,

danger bound,

for no one,

will remain around.

 

To die in the line of duty,

is the ultimate sacrifice,

for those to die,

with honor and pride.

 

It is the humble warrior,

the war-torn soldier,

that people will honor,

when war is over.

 

Duty of honor,

day of glory,

brings sadness to some,

for the fallen soldier,

 

To be at rest,

from a life of duty,

a soldier’s life,

is a true story.

 

An honored death,

full of glory,

bring peace,

to their story.

 

But death is not the true goal,

for there is a toll,

for all of us to know,

a moment to pause and grow.

 

Peace throughout the land,

is the plan,

but some may pay the price,

for liberty to live in our life.
