Party of OneA Poem by DonaldHave you ever lived alone. No one to call your true love. I have and it is not pretty. But somehow you know someone is waiting out there for you.Always alone, party of one, can never atone, sitting all alone.
No date to call, no one to catch his fall, against the wall, never standing tall.
Never happy, no joy out of life, when all you see is strife, in a party of one.
Alone at the theater, eating alone at the diner, no laughter comes, from a party of one.
TV dinners are a specialty, single serve portions are a reality, when you live your life, all alone.
Life is boring, beyond compare, when there is no one, beside a party of one.
Sadness and sorrow, are all you feel, in this solitary existence, alone in the sun.
Not part of the crowd, no longer in the scene, living a lonely life, in the sun.
Live a life alone, with no friends in sight, every day he sighs, every night he cries.
Something must change, in this life of one, someone to bring life, to a party of one.
A friend to the end, is what he wants, someone to love, on those lonely nights.
A change may soon come, to this party of one, a bit of joy, and a lot of pleasure.
Signs of life are present, and this is no longer, a party of one, for leisure.
A party of one, have become a table for two, for that is now the number that rules, for sorrow is now past.
Happy at last, was a party of one, for his day has come, and love has come to pass. © 2014 DonaldAuthor's Note
