Bridal PathA Poem by DonaldThis is a simple poem of love and the vows taken during a wedding. One day I may use them myself.Down the aisle the you will walk, dress in white, with but a single thought, to stand beside the man who waits, for you to stand by his side.
The pastor reads those solemn vows, to join these two lovers in his house, an holy place filled with people, friends and family quiet as a mouse.
Do you truly love this man, the one by which you stand, forever together wearing golden bands.
Never seeking the love of another, longing to be a mother, of the children you will have together, and you will love like no other.
In this house of God, do you swear, to love each other forever and keep each other.
With a simple I do, the pastor begins again with him, once again the vows are recited, to the man beside you.
Do you truly love this woman, with all your heart and soul, to be together forever, wearing this symbols of gold.
Never lying in another's arms, vowing to be the father of your children, and to provide love for all, for you will love like no other,
In this house of God, do you swear, to love each other forever and keep each other.
With this vow done, a simple I do follows, and then they are done, what was two is now one.
You and your husband, stand before all, waiting to show the world, your pride and stand tall. © 2014 Donald |
