Under the Christmas Tree

Under the Christmas Tree

A Poem by Donald
"

Christmas day is a day of joy and peace in the world. It is also a day of family.

"

Early the morning on Christmas morning,

children jump out of bed to see,

what Santa has left them for all to jump with glee.

Toys of all shapes and sizes abound.

With the ones that arouses their smiles,

 that goes around and around.

The parents hear them laugh and play,

with all their new toys on display.

Now it is Christmas day.

A day of pray and one of play.

Father tries on one of his new ties,

mother winks her wandering eyes.

Celebration is the order of the day,

eating Christmas Ham, mashed potatoes and yams.

Soon the rest of the family arrives,

to join in dinner and spread more cheer in their lives.

Soon the football game echoes through the house,

along with adults cheering throughout the game.

Joy and laughter fill the house,

for now it is Christmas day throughout and about.
