To Wonder About Winter

What thoughts are conjured up when people mention Winter. Do you think of the cold, snow falling, skiing, or winter sports. Or do you reflect on the past year's events. I think of reflection.

Winter is a time of reflection.

A time to think about what has come before us.

Of things that have come to pass.

Of relationships that are of the present,

and of things that are now in the past.

One should not dwell on what has happened,

but of what will or is currently in your life.

Of your love for another,

Of what should be or is,

but never what is now over.

And now only dwells there to be fondly remembered.

Of people who have left this mortal coil,

of places you have gone.

Or perhaps of things best forgotten,

that shaped your life until now.

Everyone’s life is shaped by who they were.

To strive to move forward with a surer step.

To a brighter future that lies ahead,

and embrace love with no hesitation,

unfettered by lost,

or what was.

But to enjoy what is in your life.

For that is the real reason to reflect.
