The Journey

this is a poem about self-discovery. It is about the journey through life itself and what we discover along the way.

Throughout life everyone is on a journey.

It starts on the day we are born,
and it ends on the day we die.

We do not know where it will take us.

For it is a journey of discovery,
of many things.

It is a journey for love,
a journey for reflection,
a quest to find our own truth.

There are other things found on this journey.

One of those things is our purpose in life.

Nothing is known to us.

But it is presented to us on this journey.

We are given certain things before we start.

A curiosity of what happens around us,
an urge to see how things work,
a need for companionship,
plus, the need to love.

We are shaped by our own journeys,
into the people we become.

Some experiences are good,
while some force us down a darker path.

We only lack the wisdom to know the difference,
until later in life.

For that is what the journey is about.
