The Muse

Where does the inspiration for a poem come from. Does it come from your heart. Perhaps it is inspired by the person you love.

You are the source of my inspiration.

You are the song in my heart.

You drive me forward,

To write these few words.

You are my muse.

My love knows no bounds,

With you in my heart.

For without you I am an empty shell,

waiting to be filled with your love and hope.

Life is an illusion and a dream has more substance.

Loneliness is darkness from my absence of you.

My poetry sings with your presence,

it flies onto the page.

From the passion in my heart.

It grows in its passion and power.

It feeds off my love for you.

It breathes from my desire to be with you.

It begins to live and feel like a bird in flight.

Waiting to soar to the heavens above,

into the darkness of the space that surrounds us.

To see the twinkling stars,

and the bright blue world below.

Until it is fully alive on this page,

and here for all to see and feel.
