Prayer

Prayer

A Poem by Donald
"

Do you think that prayer should be confined by religion or faith. Or even to used by someone without faith.

"

Prayers are not verses set in stone

Prayers are not instruction to be followed to the letter.

They are requests or wishes to the Lord.

They can take any shape any time.

They are used by people of many cultures,

they are all heard by God.

They may use one of his many names.

They may come from any nation.

They may be said morning, noon or night.

They can be spoken or unspoken.

They may be of any topic or cause.

They may praise the Lord or ask for help.

Prayers are not just for those pure of spirit.

They can be used to ask forgiveness,

from sins during life’s journey,

to the rediscovery of one’s faith.

Anyone can find their way back,

If they so desire.

All they have to do is ask,

before it can be granted.

Faith takes many shapes and many religions.

But all of them are the same.

A prayer to God is what it is.
