Turmoil

This is the chaos in life. This is something to be endured and this is how to do it.

The part of life you cannot control.

Chaos reigns supreme in these times.

But control must be found to reign in the fear,

the rage and the confusion of it all.

It cannot be allowed to happen,

but yet it does,

It only takes a stray thought,

a wrong word,

or a missed signal for it to happen.

You must guard against this to prevent misunderstanding and chaos from happening.

Joy, love and understanding work well with these dark feelings and help eliminate them.

Love is the key to solving this riddle.

You must insure that love survives in all involved. 

Love is the great equalizer in all affairs of the heart.

It is understanding, compassion, wisdom, joy and a myriad of other emotions that are given life if love is found, and allowed to flourish.

For without love, life is darkness and emptiness.

There is always room in the heart for love.

Donald,

This is an interesting poem and I really enjoyed reading it. I could see it working well as a spoken-word poem. I enjoyed the emphasis that each period gave; normally I would say that a period breaks up the flow of a poem but it enhanced yours because each line stood as its own statement.

"For without love, life is darkness and emptiness.
There is always room in the heart for love."

A simple but strong statement.
