Downward Spiral

Downward Spiral

A Poem by Donald
"

How does one feel if love is not in their life. Does he find someone else to love or does he just waste away until someone comes along.

"

Without love, we spiral out of control into oblivion.

All hope fades from our memory and love seems like an impossible dream.

But somehow we keep going,

praying that love will once again enter our lives,

bring us back to the top of who we used to be.

Never the less we must continue our shadowlike existence,

try to keep our love alive within us.

We do this through shear determination and willpower.

But eventually,

we do tire and fall by the wayside, into a pit of despair.

But then we must pick ourselves up from this and continue onward going,

stumbling,

as we move along.

But still moving forward.

Sometimes we can see a glimmer of light ahead briefly then it is gone,

like a dream,

but we still travel on.

With each brief appearance,

hope is gradually renewed a little more.

This give us the strength to continue a little further down the path of life.

Falling down from time to time,

but picking ourselves up each time and continuing to advance.

Finally the light from ahead is too brilliant to ignore.

So we pick up our pace and move even faster than before.

Until we are finally there,

and ready to be bathed in the bright light of love once again.
