Love Lives on

Love Lives on

A Poem by Donald
"

What happens to love after the person dies, does continue on or does it just fade away like a sound. An echo of its true voice.

"

Does love live on after the flesh is gone.

Until the bones turn to dust,

Or does it move on to the next soul.

Migrates to the next open heart.

Like a virus of the heart.

It infects with the desire of another and to love again.

Brings a burning of desire and a fever to the soul.

Does it make it difficult for us to think and breath without the presence of another.

But yet it is the love from another time and another love.

Does it matter whose love it was and will be again.

Like all things in life, is love reborn into another person.

To start the next cycle of existence like it has done thousands of times before.

With each cycle,

does the love grow stronger than the last and make harder to ignore and to outrun.

It continues on its ultimate destination and  final goal.

To be fulfilled once and for all eternity

To be truly alive and breath on its own.

Free of the flesh that binds it to this mortal coil.

And to fly to the stars above.

Or does it just end.

To be forgotten like the person who once bore it.

Alone and unwanted.

To be cast aside like a worn out shoe.

And to live it alone like a forgotten dream.

But yet it still exists.

It lives and breathe like all creature of this world.

And held up high for all the world to see.
