Writing a Poem

Writing a Poem

A Poem by Donald
"

What goes through your mind as you write a poem. Does it happen easily or do you have to work on it. Once I start the words just flow until I am done.

"

You sit behind a computer screen,

waiting for the words to come to your mind.

There you sit,

wondering if this will be a hit.

But still you wait.

The screen remains blank while your mind races and you are thinking of a tank.

Still nothing comes to your mind.

No hints of any kind.

But still you wait for the one brief spark to shine,

comes to the back of your mind.

Then your fingers start flying over the keyboard,

typing in the words of a new poem.

Its concept seem original,

and structure is intense.

You know it will be great,

maybe even immense.

As you keep on typing the words just flow and then you are done and you just say oh.

It is something beautiful and well-structured with a symmetry that can’t be beat.

You double-check its wording to correct any mistakes.

There are some minor typos and still it make sense.

You post it on the web site and wait for the reviews.

Everyone likes it.

And it keeps you from feeling the blues.
