![]() The CornerA Poem by Donald![]() This is a piece about a part of hookers working their corner. Working the same corner day after day. With no paid holidays or benefits.![]() A lot of traffic moves past this
corner on the edge of the city. Several girls are standing, waving at the cars
in an attempt to gain their attention. Dressed in skimpy outfits which
displayed all of their assets. They shouted at the cars, “Do you want have some
fun tonight, I can show you a good time” Once in a while a car would stop, ask how much and one of the girls would
walk up, read a list of pleasures they could perform for a price. Sometimes
the driver would invite into the car, then they would drive off to some hidden corner to do the deed. Then shortly afterwards, he would drop her off back on
her spot. She’d straighten her outfit and start all over again to attract the
next customer. Most of the time they would drive off to their waiting wives or
girlfriends. They had their regulars who would come by and ask for their usual fare
of sexual favors and delights. This whole business started at sundown and
continued until sunup the next day. Day after day these girls would perform their business on this corner, because it was their spot. They chased off the
rest of the competition long ago to prove it. At the end of the workday. They would return home sore and tired for the constant abuse that they received during the day. Count their receipts and then soak in the shower or tub to wash the
dirt off their tired bodies. Grab a bite
to eat and turn in until the next day of the same thing. Never a day of rest or
relaxation. Never a chance to unwind. Just another day of work to them with all
the pleasure long gone a while ago. To start the day again. © 2013 DonaldAuthor's Note
