You smile…I smileA Poem by dkirupalli“Why so sad?” I asked her once, “Why let
sorrows pile?” on her toes she replied thus, “You smile…I
smile.” Surprised first, I asked her again, “What makes
you think I’m low?” and once again she reminded me thus, “Your eyes
told me so.”
“How are you? How have you been?” after all it’s
been a while, a lot had changed but her answer not, “You
smile…I smile.” “Come on dear, it can’t be the eyes”, they
already have let me down, “No...No” she said, “not the eyes, it’s your
voice this time around.”
Feeling were my oldest foe, always hidden never
revealed, but you always saw through my mask, always knew
how I feel. Your smile greets when I’m high, comforts when
feeling low, I love your smile more than mine, but never did
I say you so.
You taught me to smile, to be happy, once a
while, So please wake up, I promise now, “You smile, I….
