 Anxiety

As  deep  as  the  ocean  my  poor  mind  tries  to  swim.  Floating  on  a  desperate  surface,  holding  onto  life.  My stinging  ears  of  water,  my  heart  with  fright. Anxiety  fills  up  in  my  crowded  lungs.  My  feet  moving  faster,  while  I  remain  still.  Numbness  takes  over  from  the  chilling  ices.  How  did  I  get  here?  When  will  it  stop?  Pampered  souls,  sweating  for  survival.  Finally  darkness  surrenders  as  weakness  takes  it’s  last  breath.  I  close  my  eyes  and  I  sink.

Wow, you hit the nail on the head with this one. Anxiety is such a bummer of an emotion and your poem does a marvelous job of putting that feeling into words.
