Poem 2-2 e2

Poem 2-2 e2

A Poem by Keith

Men of flesh and presumed intelligence

the belligerent, eloquent and reasonably elegant

bureaus of fashion, fads and promised pitch

electing to float on campaign upon hitch

to stream single file down a popular pole

to jump on the wagon of response to role

to answer a call representing career

condemnation, critique and established arrears

to better one's self upon pressing need

to answer the tabloid's call to deed

to establish the guilt of the souls who impart

wisdom with anathema for their sacred arts

oils to slip over the barber's leather

out front of the gallows, commonly tethered

an innovation of freedom for the expression of will

who's soap box was forced transformed to till

to harvest the bounty offered by dissident

whose commodities failed to return their investment

'stead daily bread of scorn and vehemence

judicial offering of prior testament

of heads with seeds for waving precedence

throwing upon winds a sowing of replenishment

repaying their roots with burnt off composition

infertile husks of forefather's ash and deposition

repaid an unholy rebuke and theft of soul

from the greed and lust for that left to the whole

A powerful poem. Open the door to thoughts and good conversation. A older poem. Still relate to the world today. Greed had led man to a bad place. If we don't learn forgiveness and how to communicate. We are in a lot of trouble. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
