Poem #7

Poem #7

A Poem by Keith

Howling at the black

Crying into the sea

Forgiving the night's virtues

In a dawn-breaking jubilee

Sacrificing ourselves

To the god of despair

Desiring no ill fate

Praying the gods be fair

Enveloping us

Wasting ourselves

Unredemable time

Forgiving themselves

With no idea why.

Pressing punitively forward

Seeking the goal

A form of enlightenment

Or possibly just forgetfullness,

How shall we ever know.
