A new nursery rhyme, meant to resemble an traditional, 18th Century nursery rhyme.

Lambing Time

The sun grows warm, and melts the snow,

It’s lambing time, it’s lambing time;

Green shoots peep out, and fat buds swell,

It’s lambing time in the spring!

The birds build nests, the tadpoles swim,

It’s lambing time, it’s lambing time;

The rabbits and the squirr’ls return,

It’s lambing time in the spring!

The farmer tills the moist, black earth,

It’s lambing time, it’s lambing time;

The wooly ewes to lambs give birth,

It’s lambing time in the spring!

Initial reactions and constructive criticism welcome. This is meant to have the style and feel of a traditional, 18th Century nursery rhyme.
