The Chilly Gator

The Chilly Gator

A Poem by Debbie Barry
"

A silly new nursery rhyme that came to me in the night, based on a news clip.

"

The Chilly Gator

The alligator swam in his swamp,

Down where the weather was hot;

The alligators swam under the sun,

Until, suddenly, warm it was not.

The alligator swam in his swamp;

He swam wherever he chose;

He stuck his nose out to breathe the air,

And got stuck when the swamp water froze!
