One of my favorite things in writing is when an author makes up words to convey different sounds! It's so important to include all the senses when we write & you've done that so well here! Love it! You CAN teach an old dog new tricks! I'm living proof! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
Have just given my 75 year old ma in law her first mobile phone....or not mobile, she never knows where it is and when it rings she is forever asking, " is that your phone "

She keeps it in her purse, and generally uses the landline at home, but has discovered the convenience of sending short notes, instead of having chatty vphone conversations. My father-in-law is having more trouble with it. He was an engineer for GM, but the cell phone is beyond him. He's gamely trying, though. My step dad is as comfortable with his phone as I am with mine, but he always did get the latest computer upgrades, and then device upgrades as tablets and cell phones came along. My mom has a flip phone. Voice only, no QWERTY keyboard, no Internet. She prefers it that way, and doesn't use the flip phone unless she's traveling. The cordless for the landline is mobile enough for her. Now, I'm the one with texting issues, because of my eyesight, but voice-to-text has been a Godsend for me. I carry a magnifying glass to help me read my phone, and it usually works!
I regret that I had to censor myself in order to get this to post. The original, which contained no offensive language, only nonsense sounds to represent clicking on a cell phone's keyboard, was:
My grandmother has learned how to text!
Clickety-blip, clickety-blip!
What in the world will happen next?
Clickety-beep, clickety-beep,
Beepity, beepity, beepity beep,
Clickety-beep, hit Send!
My grandpa sent a Smiling Poo!
Clickety-blip, clickety-blip!
Now what am I supposed to do?
Clickety-beep, clickety-beep,
Beepity, beepity, beepity beep,
Clickety-beep, the end!
I much prefer this original to the edited version posted.
