This Heat

This Heat

A Poem by DJuan Thomas
"

It gets hot in Louisiana

"
I got lost in your essence
over a cup of tea and a look of love.
When night moved over me, wrapping me
in a blanket of moonglow,
I felt you creep into my star-filled bed.
Warm me in this cold dark
the way that only you can.

"Come live with me and be my love"
While the winds blow and the tides
stay the same.
There will never live another love
like the love we live.
You will crave the nectar on these lips-
the sugar touch of them on your body.

And when this rapturous song begins
its beat to the tune of passion's sway;
We will want for nothing save the
breath we exchange in the swell of this heat.
The greatness of your hand on my stomach,
my hands on your face where every line,
wrinkle, curve and hair whispers my name.

There is so much I can say here about my life I suppose, but it seems so uninteresting to write about it. Talking to people just seems so much better. I'm a small town guy, pretty simple I think. I'm .. more..
