chapter threeA Chapter by david jonesFast forward
Running through the woods, trying to hide from the soldiers hot on my tail. I was just outside the gates of the camp. A few more steps and I would be away...to the streets...where I would have to survive from their. I heard the sounds of shouting, the sounds of military trucks being driven, trying to find me, chase me down and hunt me, before killing me. I knew I couldn't let that happen.
I raced through the woods, tripping over brambles of tangled branches that lie in my path, trying to be careful not to fall, to trip, and have the soldiers take me back. I heard a sound of gunfire as well. As I ran, racing through the woods, until I saw a clearing in the distance. I raced toward it but then stopped. It was a cliff. And below it, a military vehicle drove on the road. This was my only way of escape. I needed to use it. To jump. I backed up, back into the dense thicket of trees and sprung forward like a tiger to prey, racing through the woods up the cliff and I jumped, slamming into the roof of the Humvee. There was a swerving of tires and a couple of shouts as the soldiers figured out quickly what the hell was going on. The Humvee I was on swerved, trying to throw me off, but I hung on. I let out a shriek as the Humvee took a sharp turn around the corner, avoiding a narrow pass that would lead down into the water. There was a clatter of gunfire to try and get me off. I dodged to the right as bullet slammed into the roof. A door from behind the Humvee opened. I took my chance. I swung down into the back of the Humvee, slamming my fist into one of the soldiers, kicking the other straight in the chest. They both fell. And I shot them with their own machine gun. I grabbed a clip and placed it into the gun, facing off with a Humvee behind him. I fired at the tires. One of them exploded like a melon and the Humvee sputtered out of the control and then flipped over, slamming into the guard rail, causing the Humvee to explode.
