A Poem by Dug
"

Sometimes I forget that I'm a loser. Thanks for reminding me.

"

there's no where i can hide
from your snide remarks
everywhere i go
you're to find my faults

nothing goes unnoticed
nothing's left to slide
and if it's not brought up now
it will be another time

all my deeds are measured
all my motives judged
i don't need your reminders
already know i suck

i'm not much good at life
but at least i have you
to tell me when i'm wrong
and where i can improve

without you i'd never know
that i was a waste of flesh
just wanted to say thanks
for this slow and painful death

The tension is incredible!
At times it seems you could be sincere and enjoying being a loser, but then at others, I am drowned at epic sarcasm.
I'm very very sorry if you've had a lot of experience with people like that.
I honestly believe the only real losers are those who really really try to be.
You could be saying all this with a straight face, eyebrows creased, in a rage, or even smiling sometimes!
I unfortunately feel like i have been the perpetrator of this occasionally. It doesn't really happen on purpose, but that's only consequential when the victim believes and is ready to forgive and move on.
I can't call this piece 'fun' to read over and over again. I simply read it over and over...
Very well-written, portraying a great amount in not-so-many lines.
Thank you for sharing.

A lot of what's on here are song lyrics (plus a few random short stories when my imagination wanders). I write music, but I've been trying to focus on the lyrical side of things. Words and music when.. more..
