Free The Mind

Free The Mind

A Poem by Mike

Hmm Hmm Hmm spending time with sin on the mind,

How does it all get so faded that visions blind,

How did it get like this when the chemicals burn in the bloodstream,

Waiting the moment for it to kick in to release the scream,

When looking for love you never find it in a bottle,

Revealing scars upon the broken hearted not subtle,

When it kicks in no relief from the loneliness,

Hearing the voices in the mind calling out across the abyss,

Scared and afraid once the devil took your memory,

Falling as if to death in the hope of heaven being the story,

Hold one another in arms filled with hope and faith,

Touch each other in love without fear of youth,

Free the mind to unleash the freedom of you,

Free the mind to make the story true,

Free the mind and have no wall to undo,

Free the mind to make a future worth the beautiful view,

Don’t have a care for gold when there’s no one to hold,

Await not the patience to return from the cold,

Repent the mistakes so that it’s viewed and bold,

Delaying the moment will only perish and grow old,

Suffering for the thirst when there is no water,

Holding back for the hunger sooner rather than later,

Free the mind and perish not into that quarter,

Praise in the joys of now and await not at the altar,

Free the Mind …………
