Truthfull Eyes

Truthfull Eyes

A Poem by Mike

Light up a cigarette and to try and calm down, Got a serious side that makes the people frown, feeling like nothing matters with holes in me starting to drown, need to escape and get to another town,

Look into these eyes and see the truth,
Look into these eyes and sit in the booth,
look into these eyes and pull the tooth,
look into these eyes and tempt my youth,

Don't let me slip don't let me flip,
Keeping me sane and free from pain,
Making me smile if only for a while,
Grabbing my hand to help me stand,

Not leaving anything to chance anymore,
Don't feed this damaging force,
Avoidance of any fuels for this fire,
Chain it up and lock it away the beast needs to rest now,

Truthful eyes with the power to burn,
Truthful eyes with the knowledge to learn,
Truthful eyes the glare that earns,
Truthful eyes don't stare you will see me torn,

Itching skin bathe me in bright light,
Crawling anger like ripples under the skin,
Shattering silence like screams of breath,
Tensing muscles like venom flowing and infecting,

I know it and I feel it when its coming but control becomes my vice, its not as simplistic as a roll of the dice, its not as simple as a count of 1 2 3, its not as easy as stepping away and taking a breath, its not as easy to control as just walking away,

Truthful eyes ...
Truthful eyes frozen in time ...
Truthful eyes where the picture lies ...
Truthful eyes where my soul hides...
