A Poem by Nathan Allen Hauck Schmidt
"

The self in static mirrors.

"
The statue in the mirror of course
the play require no rehearse let it be
and be it free the camera came out of nowhere on to me.
Everyone sees and no one sees these things I do not know,
every time the camera appears I pose the statue to paint.
The statue in the mirror shows me what I wish to see
I see many things from boy to adulthood both the horrific and the good.
Sometimes myself beheaded with corset and fishnet cabaret whilst caressing
the factory decay and taking the color gray. Or as well the offensive gasp
I return to a responsible model the model at that
For I can be respectful and wise
and so the camera know the truth behind my dark and evil eyes.
The mirror never existed neither did the camera and neither my self,
store my jpeg image back upon your computer shelf,
and perhaps you start to photo shoot your self too after a personal
purpose has been found, what ever it is great, great be what ever you do
your soul becomes clearer now I thank you for reading THE STATUE IN THE MIRROR
