thinking again

thinking again

A Poem by dessy

I take a break in my hectic day

allow myself the indulgance

to think of you.

I know I shouldn't

bittersweet the pain as I imagine your face.

the things we didn't get to do

the memories lost; we never got to make.

I only wish

I could reach out; touch your hand

linger on the feeling of my skin against yours.

blissful wishing proves futile

knowledge is the hammer

smashing delicate dreams

never meant to be

"knowledge is the hammer/smashing delicate dreams"
This is a good visual in the poem. In this poem, I feel regret and longing.
It has a certain kind of pattern, I haven't quite figured it out. I wasn't entirely sure on the connection of the last sentence to the metaphorical hammer, but it appears that the poem mirrors the beginning. Sort of wrap itself around. Its interesting to me. It has a good choice of words, which none seem out of place or wrongly used. Good job with this.

Complicated. One word, but I find it fits me best. I am not old but not young, I am a mother, sadly not anymore a daughter. I love music but cannot make it myself. I hide from the truth when it hurts,.. more..
