Sleep Song

Sleep Song

A Poem by On

"An Ancient song, prayed in preparation of the Sleep Hunt. The villagers would gather together to sing in unison just before the nightly hunt." -Rute, Warrior of Salmatta

SLEEP SONG

Let the night come upon us
Let us bask in it
For when our eyes close this world will fade
All will fade

Let us hear the voices of old
Let us see their faces
For when we are with them we are at peace
All is at peace

Let us hunt the sleep
Let us give chase
For when we run we close in on life
All will know life

Let us live forever
Let our lifefire burn
For when we have captured life we will return
All will return

-Excerpt from "A Blind Harold's History of Eru"

My vision for this is much more than just a single poem. I have an entire universe created, but i am unsure of where to start sense it is incredibly vast. So my plan is to write smaller works within the universe and work towards crafting a main story-line through it. I'm posting it on here because i have to start somewhere, i have so much trouble procrastinating and i just need to start writing. Anyway, comments are welcome.

I can truly feel the epicness of your work by reading this. I think that what you're trying to create is simply awesome. This work should be followed by some epic instrumental music (like Two Steps From Hell) and a choir. Just keep on creating, man.
