The Girl child

The Girl child

A Poem by divyata!
"

To all the unfortunate girls who are victims to gender bias...

"

The names cherished, dominating divinity,
One thousand lamps and hours of prayers,
Finally was born a companion to 'HER';
'A misfortune!'; 'It is SHE!'!

A bad luck, a fault of fate,
Wonders she what do they hate,
Wastage of pelf in her head and health,
Says she, 'Its Lakshami who bestows wealth!'

Abilities, attributes, aptness and talent,
Like a mockery of non excellent entity;
Wails a quiet mourn in the pram,
'Excellence is achieved; not born.'

'This world is a nasty place,
Where feminine goes a waste,'
Waits a soul disdained and anguished,
To break all barriers, a new beginning awaits...
