Cry For the Lost Child

Cry For the Lost Child

A Poem by Audrey Howitt

Solitary Duality of the Soul. found on the martyr train in Atlanta Ga

I cry for you in those moments

when I feel your despair (my lost child),

in those moments

when fear overtakes,

overruns,

overrides

thinking--

when memories burst

through dams and walls

carefully constructed.

(I have had years of practice)

Panicked,

on fire--

flee

the death that waits

in the darkened corner

of your reptilian smile.

(You did this to me"to her)

And the pity,

the real pity--

You don’t know--

Can’t understand---

That I

(and she)

will pay forever

for your sin.

I cry for me.

. i think the pain that you've expressed can only be expressed by someone who has depth of perception and emotion ... this is such an overwhelming piece of writing ... your words weep ... they are worthy of the greatest mercy, empathy, and, compassion ...

there are kinds of things that can happen in life that push us into tiny tight corners and imprison us with walls of grief beyond repair...of them this is probably the rawest...any yet...

Bereaved to an undefinable depth. This is raw emotion in surprisingly few words, couldn't hurt more if it was a tome. Sad, so very sad. Crying for self is a right, a remedy, a reward and never to be regretted.

Whew ... these are deep and dark thoughts .. And I am sad to say, I can very well relate .... When no one is near, I cry for me .. and I also cry for her ..

I hear you crying . .. Jasmine
