P.S. I Love You

P.S. I Love You

A Poem by Audrey Howitt

Polite woman-

Your house is clean,

Your sheets are pressed,

Your neighbors approve.

You send cards on birthdays

Devoid of any personal sentiment-

Signed “love mom”

Would it kill you to add a postscript

“I love you”

this is a sad death indeed, the lost or forgotten "i love yous" are too many in life. brilliantly exemplified in this witty ditty. very nice indeed!

As inkslinger said... OUCH..... I won't buy into the argument though :P

Ouch... this really stings. Sadly, I know this all to well, and feel deeply for you!! So well said, with so few words.. in this instance, it works in both cases..

Oh dear, I gasped at the end of this .. understanding and not understanding. The thought behind the post seems so sharp, just as the action of the mom seems thoughtless .. even now, seconds later i find this almost crue, not specifically your words but the very knit of the scene.

It's actually a great post .. it's made me emotional .. well written words do that.

the ebb and flow of parenthood to kids who are now adults/and or parents.
Those little mannerism kill me when i go home, wish I could just argue like we used to.
