Love's Glance

Love's Glance

A Poem by Audrey Howitt
"

Poem about surprise

"

Long held, our love

A little like complicity gone awry--

On the edge

Between the knowingness of predictability

And a state of comfortable amusement.

Just when I think I have you nailed,

Predictability fails.

And in the blink of a universe fallen askew,

You give me a look--

A shadowed glance

Which surprises my heart.

And love is born anew

To take up a previously vacant corner of my heart.

Ah. L'amour. From days of street-wise fashion to evenings of old crumpled cardigan it comes like a cheeky mouse and makes us jump.
Well done.

Fanning these reticent flames. Sometimes we don't realize the feelings we have for another until the sneak up on us. A wonderful, heartfelt write.

Delightfully expressed; deep perception born of a desire to fulfill and be fulfilled.
How wondrous--and surprising--is this lovely little song your heart felt compelled to sing! And how very nice for you both.

A charming reflective piece about love's surprises.. It had a touch of George Herbert's poetry about it somehow...

What a delightful gift!

It is always a surprise when the heart can open again :) Beautifully expressed sweetheart, elegantly so!

"And love is born anew"

It takes work, and a special kind of psycho/elbow grease for this to happen..
But oh, the effort is worth it..and it helps to be a trascendentalist, like
I propose myself as being..having a been there, done that, now what, attitude, helps when working on renewal...

Suprise the familiar heart
"and love is born anew"

Love the poem
