Always NeverA Poem by NousAn observation of the way we attempt to use certain words.
Unending.
Perpetual. Eternal. Forever. So many words contrived of the same meaning The same entity. Used. Continuously, By a race of uncomprehending messengers Every utterance a desperate forgery for the things we wish to hold close, to rinse the butter from our fingers (to make famous hopeful singers). A strength we can Never Reach Trust me, I've tried - drawn blood on this boundary that no one can breach. Even memories fade taking shelter in the shade only to resurface Different. Ideally Contorted Affluent. Always Never Concurrent contradictions Confusing the Affliction Of Time. Time! I want to buy more time lather, rinse, Repeat To fall instead of climb A fate I'd gladly greet Yesterday. © 2011 NousAuthor's Note
