I Forget

I Forget

A Poem by Dith

Still stoned
from a night of palm trees and asphalt.
It's left unsaid
With enough slights and pauses,
The cameras are watching
On street corners.

You notice pictures with every glimpse.
Out here in the cold with you
Take turns, describe me.

Glitchy techno surrounding me
In the car that is our home
Momentarily. Feel like I'm
losing my mind.

To be understood completely
In the moment - has passed
I think. In daydreams
We do and I forget
I was raped.

I forget I was raped, with you
Here, inside our minds.
This world all our own.

I don't quite know what to do with these words. The startling focus of the cold sentence fragment story chills me. It is remarkable writing. Moreso that your detachment from the narration still stirs so much emotion in the reader.
