To myself

To myself

A Poem by Gerhardus Retief

I will have to say I am sorry.
Its all that I can utter because I worry.
Did you go wrong or is this the darker side of right?
I am the accused of what you have become in the night.

At least you will have the best of me.
Even after the ages its still just misery.
I will break your diverted heart.
Not allow you once to beg to depart.

You took it with a secretive smile.
Made the milestone crack in denial.
Have we forgotten who we once were?
Never had the choice of sleeping sincerity.

Especially when yours is full of nothingness
The only song I can sing ends with emergence.
Lets leave this empty world behind.
Tinted happiness wouldn't be visible in my own design.

Find me one day in the back of your choice.
Bleeding pressure is so easy with so much white noise.
Tell the voices to heighten their pitch of what they see.
After your eyes darken and realize its just me.
