Above all else

Above all else

A Poem by Gerhardus Retief

The lustering moon wont be rising until the divorced sun does the unexpected honors.
The re-birthed wind wants the convincing whispers back yet again.
Birds travel against it, snow blind in the icicle by stretched hand-strings.
Leveled mountain against higher mountains exchange howls as they are roughly mimed.
Do you think the sky is dreaming alright.... dreaming all night?

It better be tragic dreams of the past and future because the teardrops of rain pours every silent night.
The moon is losing pints of white blood with the crusade against the lavender sun.
It may be Zeus's thunderbolts pierced by Athena's lightning spear but the sky belongs to the two.
They would show proud and never cower in retreat to experience a sharing deity.
How inferior are the panels that steal that which does not belong to them.

The youngest drawings always have their thorns pointed away from the religion of the light.
Betraying their traitorous rights to gravity as a sacrifice to show appreciation.
The angels are at their heels opening the curtains to the twilight show scarred between the stars.
Crossed apart never even meeting each other until the moon betrays the sun in the scarce eclipse.
Winking to the world as the moon's skin swallows the rays of light burying us in shadowed sin.

Before we know we are the ants on our devil's playground being burnt alive as the magnetized glass
spreads the time on us.
Tattoo a warning to the weremamals inside the deserted moonglaive that know nothing of the scars left by their diseases.
This separates the sun from the moon, be it's caged motivation as the scarecrows inside our disguises grow under the lands.
The crafted color of truth is confined within the walls of the night and let loose upon us by the day.
