Find my place

Find my place

A Poem by Gerhardus Retief

How deep to dig in this endless hole of movement?
They point out how I am going to break.
So that everyone can watch how humiliation has a father.
Desperate had I become trying to crawl in a place.

Where I actually fit in with others yet it was already abandoned.
What road have I taken? Maybe the world has been rid of monsters.
But some splinters in the hidden box show the rays of light.
Not a monster at all yet scared of the world thanks to the popular kind.

The sun knows that lying under it like a shadow is all I can ever do.
The world was meant for everyone not just the ones who conquer it.
Careless they were where we fight as the renegade.
The light scarred but not left alone in this tide.

They ruin the world when your trying to find your place.
Never had a chance to see my world as it should be.
Waiting for so long to see there is not much to die for.
Still there is and it is worth every twitch of pain.

Maybe thats why the rain cries with me.
No time or a audience could keep me in this world of mimics.
Cant be like anyone else just have to row the boat by itself.
